Mr. Jaufar launched his own business in 1992 with the establishment of the first Jausa company with a minor share capital and five employees. He personally managed the administrative, financial, engineering, purchasing and welfare activities until the third year where additional employees were recruited. In year seven the company expanded rapidly to more than 500 staff. Today it is the one of the largest & front-line company in Construction Industry in Maldives.

Achievements

First company to build a 10 storey building reaching maximum height approved by the Government by 1994

First company to build a basement (under ground floor) of a high rise building in Maldives.

Maldive Customs Service Building (a land mark in the capital Male’, known for its excellent finishing).

Founder Member of Maldives Association of Construction Industry.

First private company to get awarded with the license to export skip jack tuna, after privatization of the industry. (Previously a Government owned company had a monopoly.)

Former Director and Vice Chairman of Maldives Chamber of Commerce.

A Founder member of the first Finance Leasing Company (Maldives Finance Leasing Company).

Public Service Incentive Awards for the year 2000 from the President of the Republic of Maldives His Excellency Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, for the significant Construction Work (received in the eighth year in business).

Jausa is the first Maldivian company to establish a retail ceramic shop in Singapore, establishing itself as the most prominent tiles service provider of a wide range of Sri Lankan tiles.
